Jolly Ol' Saint Nick
Well, it's that time of the year when everyone loses their sanity and forgets how to drive. Yesterday was Toronto's first real snowfall of the season and on the 400-series highways alone, just in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), there was something like 400-500 accidents. I was watching Global News yesterday evening, and they were doing a bit on the snowfall, the ice, and how morons can't drive. This old man lost control of his car and ended up on the side of the road and three, yes, 3 other cars -- all independent of one another -- came careening down the street and plowed into his Corolla. Poor guy.
On a different, though equally disheartening note, finals are here for me. Actually, I've my Telecommunications tomorrow, Finance the following day, and Application Development on Friday. Then I'm blessed with a few days "off", and I get Philosophy and Law both on the 14th, and then I'm done on the 18th, after Database Development. In other words, me:
To help take the load off my shoulders, I've hired three new Staff members: FluffyPants, a long-time forum goer who will be helping out with the Halo series; Java Man, a friend of mine who will also be helping out with the Halo series; and IVIaedhros (pronounced Maedhro / May-drows), who will be lending a much needed hand on the Starsiege:2845 front, though you may see a couple of reviews from him as well.
There have been some great submissions for our Write a Poem to Bungie contest thus far. I'm actually amazed at the level of detail that some people have put into their poems (others, not so much). A reminder: the poem ends is six days! Those who haven't yet submitted a poem, heed Evergreen's advice, there is some great swag up for grabs.
