Sometimes in battle, you forget what you are fighting for. You look at the world around you and think, if only for a moment, that it's not worth it. Nothing is worth fighting for such a horrid world. Then you think of the beautiful worlds that will be saved if you hold this one; what the future may bring if you continue. Only then do you realize that you are not fighting for the here and now but for what has not yet come, for what will be.
