Favourite Games: I could make a list pages long of my favorite games. It would get exhausting both to write and to read. So instead I'll give you my current top ten of all time. This list changes on occasion not just as new games come out but also as my interests and disposition change. It is also worth noting that because I have a large store of 'favorite games' to choose from other contenders will from time to time re-ignite my passion and nostalgia for them as memories from those experiences re-surface and will displace their fellows on the list.

I've played every last one of these games to the wee hours of the morning and many of my ideals regarding game design come from the experiences I had with these titles. Some are on the list for pure play value, others for quality of immersion and some for technical achievement. The order was very hard to come to a decision about with one exception: Civilization. It has for a decade remained at the top of my list and I see little chance of it's moving anytime soon. So unyielding has this game's hold on me been that I have gone so far as to have re-installed and played the title within the last six months.

10 Warlords II
9 Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
8 Final Fantasy III
7 Ultima IV
6 Mechwarrior II
5 Neverwinter Nights
4 Starcraft
3 Starsiege: Tribes
2 Star Control II
1 Civilization

Gaming Roles: Chatty Bitch.

Sorry... I had to. In all seriousness, In multiplayer team combat I relish the chance to plan and coordinate my team's assault and defense. It is not often however in multiplayer venues that one is afforded that luxury. More often then not when gameplay mechanics do not prevent such intellectual engagement, one's teammates will.

In those instances I prefer to use my talents to frustrate the enemy's ability to re-arm and regroup. If I can sneak behind the primary line of offense and shovel a few racks worth of LRMs into your back while my squadmate has you distracted I will. If you allow me the chance to deposit a full ammo pack's worth of mortars into your team's sanctuary, rest assured I will avail myself of that opportunity. My mission in life is to make not just you, but you and five of your teammates all determined to exterminate me. When I die in a cacophonous splash of incoming fire from multiple sources, I do so with a smile on my face. I'm smiling because while you're busy pumping an extra grenade into my limp corpse for good measure, my teammates just took off with your damn flag. See you again in a minute or two.

Hobbies / Activities: You mean besides writing and gaming? Er... Um... Well, shit.

Accomplishments / Achievements: I am the owner, founder, and administrator of TribesRoleplayers and StarsiegeUniverse, the comprehensive online resource devoted to the history of the Starsiege and Tribes Universe. In the five years that I have been a member of the Tribes community I've also had the privilege of contributing to and co-authoring several of the official universe backstory documents, which were released by Dynamix before it's demise.

I am also the author of several mildly popular nonfiction essays and articles on Gaming and Geek culture.

Currently of course I am a writer on the Starsiege 2845 project where we hope to create a sequel worthy of the Starsiege name, utilizing the upcoming Tribes: Vengeance engine.

Blurb: Whatever is in any way beautiful hath its source of beauty in itself, and is complete in itself; praise forms no part of it. So it is none the worse nor the better for being praised... Doth perfect beauty stand in need of praise at all? Nay; no more than law, no more than truth, no more than loving kindness, nor than modesty. - Marcus Aurelius

The man who does not explore the records of history, who refuses to investigate the wit and wisdom of his predecessors, and who does not care to ask the question 'Why?' is a fool. That man is little more than a slave, and certainly no more useful than such to his society. - Me
