That Weasel
Name: That Weasel
Sex: Male
Country of Residence: United States and United Kingdom
Education: Some College
2 yrs attending Savannah College of Art and Design majoring in Computer Art with focuses on 3D Animation & Modelling, Interactive Design, and Video Game Programming and minoring in Art History. 1 1/2 yrs attending West Chester University majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Art History.
How would we know you:
I run That Weasel Television, the second largest Halo and Halo 2 movies and fan films website. Also, for the last two years, I have been a Celebrity Judge for the Rockets on Prisoner Awards. In 2005, That Weasel Television will be hosting the Rockets on Prisoner Awards and will transform the Halo and Halo 2 fan film community as we know it.
Favourite Games:
Everquest(PC), Animal Crossing(GC), Medal of Honor: Allied Assualt(PC), Unreal Tournament(PC). Sadly, I don't play as many games as I would like to. Heck, I even have some games I have never played.
Gaming Roles:
In Everquest, I'm a Druid who solos mainly, but when in a group, I'm usually a healer. In MoH:AA, I'm an ace Sniper picking the enemy off with stealth. When playing CTF in most FPS, I'm usually the crazy guy sprinting toward the enemy base or flag with bullets flying over head while the rest of the team covers me. Though when playing Unreal Tournament, I love the fast pace and direct competition of Last Man Standing Instagib.
Computer(s)/Gaming Rig(s):
Amnesiac - Dual G4 500Mhertz PowerMac, 896MB RAM, 200GB HD space, ATI Video
HAL9000 - Dual PIII 1Ghertz, 512MB RAM, 0.6TB HD space, ATI 9600SE
Workstation - Athlon Overclocked to 850Mhertz, 768MB RAM, GeForce 3 video
Plus more than fifteen other working computers including a AMD Duron 700MHertz, Dual Celeron Overclocked to 450MHertz, Dual PII 300Mhertz, 4 Commondore 64s, and a NeXT WorkStation.
Nintendo Gamecube
Gaming Groups / Squads / Clans:

Founded [FCC] Fight Club Clan, a Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun clan. Disbanded [FCC] after getting extremely fustrated with cheating among opponents.

Used to be a member and of the Chaotic Souls, an Everquest guild, but left due to "uberization" of the guild.

Used to be a member of (ABS) Absolut Clan, a Medal of Honor: Allied Assualt clan, but got kicked out because I drank too much. This coming from a group founded on drinking and gaming.

Hobbies / Activities / Interests:

Computers, Programming, and Technology - I have what I consider a healthy addiction to computers and technology, but others think otherwise. My first computer experience was on the Commondore 64 (see "Computer(s)/Gaming Rig(s)" above) on which I first taught myself how to program at the age of 9. Then came an Apple IIc, followed by an Apple LC, then my first Pentium-class computer.

In my first year at college, I taught myself how to put computers together and now, regularly find myself taking one or two systems apart to rebuild them into better machines or repurpose them for different jobs.

I also read and write a heck of a lot of email and surf the web on an average of six hours a day just absorbing massive amounts of information and trying to find the next big thing. Running several major websites is also a difficult task which I am still trying to find the perfect balance for. I create, design, program, maintain, and up till just recently even hosted all of the That Weasel Network.

Sleeping - When I am not in front of a computer, and even sometimes when I am, I am usually sleeping. "The key to happiness is having dreams" from a fortune cookie fortune I have taped to Amnesiac's monitor and I hope to dream often.

Painting, Drawing, and Art - My other passion is Art. One of my high school art teachers once told me, "If nothing else, you sure are a prolific." That was mentioned during the weeks of lugging tons of my artwork into school to judge the best. I don't think I ever got it all in.

My living spaces usually have box after box of supplies, portfolio after portfolio of drawings, and stack after stack of hundreds of paintings that I have created over years of work. Everything I create is Art until I deem it to be garbage then it gets painted over and developed into Art once again.

My main medium is acrylic paint on canvas or canvas board but I have also used other mediums including oil paint, watercolor, and airbrush.

I am extremely passionate about the idea that Digital Art should be considered "True" Art because it is just the creation of Art using another tool with that tool being the mouse, keyboard, and the processing power of the computer.

I have been able to digitize a small selection of my artwork and it is available to view along with my Digital Artworks as well as other artists' work on my website

Accomplishments / Achievements:
I created and delivered a new layout and design for Palm Infocenter, which recieves a million-plus visitors a day (supposedly). I was a Celebrity Judge for 2003 Rockets on Prisoner Awards and That Weasel Television was /.ed because of being a Halo fan film mirror. I created and maintain the That Weasel Network which currently recieves over 1,000,000+ hits a year. The That Weasel Network includes
"Weaseling out of things is what separates us from the animals, except the weasel" - Homer Simpson.
"I am Jack's wasted life" - Narrator from Fight Club.
"You do it to yourself. You do, and no one else" - Thom Yorke of Radiohead from the song "Just".
"So don't listen to everyone else, they're not always right" - That Weasel
Did you know?:
I was very undecided when it came to what to focus on in college. My progress of majors, before selecting and during college, looked something like this: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectual Engineering, Architecture, Sequential Art, Computer Art, Interactive Programming, and Computer Science until I finally realized school is stupid and a waste of my time. Be like That Weasel, and drop out of school. The expensive piece of paper called a diploma ain't worth it. Heck, if I did not dropout, then you might not be reading this "Spotlight" right now.
