Halo Guess the Release Date Contest: Contest Rules

Listen up!The skinny: You register a date on the calendar for when you think Halo will go gold for the Mac or PC. The three contestants with the dates closest one the actual gold date win.

The details:

1. Only one entrant per date; only one date per entrant. Violations of this are punishable by Junkyard employees with baseball bats. Don't try us. We have ze ways of making you talk.

2. This contest assumes that the Mac and PC versions of Halo will be released simultaneously. In the event that there is a divergence (PC Halo is released sooner than Mac, or vice versa), the winning date will be whichever is released first.

3. Employees of the Junkyard and close acquaintances are barred from entering. This includes but is not limited to family, spouses, or pets.

4. Employees of Bungie Studios/Westlake Interactive/Gearbox Software/Bold and close acquaintances of said individuals are barred from entering. This includes but is not limited to family, spouses, or invisible friends.

5. Winners will be presented with a prize appropriate for their placing. Check the Prizes list to see what swag you can make off with. Winners will be contacted for shipping information.

6. If a winner defaults (i.e. does not respond to attempts to contact him/her or is found to be in violation of the rules), another winner will be chosen from the nearest correct date. If there are two dates equally close, then the decision will be made randomly by the technologically advanced tool known as the flip of a coin.

7. All rules and rulings are final. Contest ends on August 5, 2003, or at such time that a verified release date is given by the developers.
