Colosus of Tribalwar got the chance to have a chat with Chris 'Thrax' Mahnken about the 4 packs of Tribes: Vengeance. Previously we had only known about three packs: the energy, repair, and shield packs, but Thrax has also spread the dirt on the new speed pack. Here's some of what he had to stay:

Speed Pack

The speed pack has a passive effect of increasing walking speed of a player and an active effect of decreasing reload time on all weapons.

TribalWar: How much of an increase in walking speed?

Thrax: Well, for instance, a heavy can normally walk 50 meters in 7 seconds without the pack. With the pack, that decreases to 5 seconds. A medium can walk the same distance in 6 seconds without the pack and 4 seconds with. And a light can walk it in 5 seconds without or 3 seconds with. Give or take a few tenths of a second as I was just timing that with my watch.

TribalWar: Does the speed pack effect skiing speed?

Thrax: No, only walking speed.
