The people at IGN have outdone even themselves and released one new designer diary and a new Vengeance preview. For starters, IGN gets Michael Johnston, senior designer for Tribes: Vengeance, to discuss the road to Gold. Johnston sums the process up well in his opening paragraph:

Tribes: Vengeance is nearing completion. With a healthy amount of polishing, tuning and fixing left to do, in some ways the next two months are as daunting to me as the previous two years combined.

The second article is a runthrough of part of the Single Player to give us a taste of what we are in for. Here's an overview of one of the missions described in the article:

This mission is a series of progressively harder challenges. First up are vicious Glorax, savage animals from the Imperial menagerie. After dispatching them, Dan sends one of his squad to man a nearby turret. He needs to keep an eye on the health of the turret and make any necessary repairs as the next wave of attackers, a squad of Blood Eagles in this case, appears.

After this the Imperials themselves start to take the field. First, a lone warrior emerges to whet the crowd's appetite. He's followed by a full squad of Imperial soldiers. By now Dan should have managed to scavenge some extra weapons from the fallen soldiers and can turn their disc launchers and grenade launchers against further waves.
Be sure to see both of the amazing articles.
