Another Tribes:Vengeance review rolled in today, this time it came from down under. GameArena has put together a two page review of the game from the view of an "...(at best) Tribes dilettante...". They rated it 8.5/10. Obligatory snippet:

Tribes Vengeance is a smart game because it doesn't try to do things that our out of its league. It's not pitching itself as the all-out graphics king, it's not selling itself on the basis of its Hollywood style story, and it's not promising to dominate sales figures. But what it does do is offer a great blended challenge for players looking for a skill-based experience. You get a satisfactory single player element for the first time, and very attractive graphics engine put to great use, and arguably the best, most enjoyable physics of any current market first person shooter. Tribes has been around long enough now that the premise, playing style and weapons are known to hardcore gamers; what won't be known yet is whether their interest will be sufficient to pack servers as the age of Half Life 2 and Battlefield approaches. Without a doubt worthy for teamplay fans and the kind of people who love a good trick jump, just be sure to tell your friends so they get involved too.
Check out the rest of the review. Thanks to Blue's for the heads up.
