Have a high-definition TV and find that Halo 2 is cutting off some HUD elements? Or annoyed that some arranged games on Xbox Live are taking longer than they should to match you up with opponents? Bungie released the second patch for Halo 2 (the first "update" was issued on game release, it's unknown what, if anything, that it did) today over Xbox Live. All Xbox consoles connected to the service will automatically download the patch when a user signs in.

If you don't have Xbox Live, Bungie notes that there's a 2-month free subscription card included with the game. If you don't have a broadband connection or a credit card (to sign up for the service), they recommend you take your console to a friend's with broadband and Live.

In addition, Bungie has remotely unlocked the "Foundation" map, which could only be accessed previously by completing the Campaign mode and then performing a tutorial. The map is a small one, similar to Wizard from the original Halo.

Did the patch work for you? Leave your comments!
