Over at IGNXbox, among their predictions for the next gen Xbox which is speculated to be launched in Fall 2005, they believe that Halo 3 will not in fact be a launch title, but will be released in the Fall of 2006.

According to IGNXbox:

"Bungie will not cut corners to try and make launch only one year after Halo 2. It will buckle down and make a killer third game in the series, perhaps ending the series proper, while simultaneously working on a brand new franchise unrelated to Halo that's not a first-person shooter. "


This adds more fuel to the Halo sequel fire, as it was recently reported over at Team Xbox that Halo 2.5 will be a launch title for Xbox 2. Could Bungie be releasing both Halo 2.5 AND Halo 3 for Xbox 2?

Both news stories are both unconfirmed, but seem to be interesting developments.
