Playstation 3 will run Linux

It seems that the Playstation 3 will have a supported Linux port after all. With IBM supplying the kernel patches, any version of linux will run nicely on the PS3 to run on the optional hard drive. Apparently, Sony will sell 80-120GB drives (which are still "too small" according to them) for the 2.5" drive bay included on the PS3. This hard drive will apparently include Linux pre-installed.

Also, Sony seems very excited about non-linear video editing and photo editing being done on a PS3, among other things. They want it to be a home supercomputer, and not a "toy" like the XBox 360 or Nintendo Revolution.
