SS:2845 and Jetpacks

It has long been known that Starsiege:2845 will feature jetpacks and the July public update features several beautiful shots of the jetpack itself. However, even though it's been stated before in, amongst other places, the SS:2845 Uber-Faq that jetpacks will not be like those in Tribes, the question still pops up as to just how limited these 'packs will be. Nabterayl, a writer on the 2845 team, shed a little light on this subject in a recent post:

The jet pack doesn't (well, won't) operate like a Tribes jet pack, no. For one thing, as Trajan said, it will slow you down - so you gain vertical mobility in exchange for some horizontal mobility. This is supposed to be a valuable tool but not turn you into a flying superhero that spends half your time in the air.
