Console Highlights at GDC

Little bit of highlights on the console wars from the latest Game Developers Conference:

• The PS3 controller will be redesigned (thank goodness) and will be unveiled at this year's E3 - along with a launch line-up
• New Revolution pictures, courtesy of Revolution Report, with claims that it was "shockingly small" and "very sleek and sexy."
• What all of us assumed when it was announced that the PS3 was headed for a global launch in November: not enough PS3's for everyone (details)
• The PS3 will be region free (Huzzah!)
• In-game advertising will play a significant role in the future of the PS3 (wtf)
• Best of Sega Genesis games available for download on the Revolution
• All PS3 games will support and require the HDD (I wonder why they captivated on this idea) - but no confirmation that the HDD would ship with the PS3
