Halo RTS Announced

At X06 yesterday, Microsoft unveiled a real-time strategy game in the Halo Universe, Halo Wars, developed exclusively for the Xbox 360 (d'uh). From the creators of the Age of Empires series, Ensemble Studios, they will put you in charge of the UNSC armies as they unleash hell upon the Covenant. As Kotaku points out, this explains why the fan created Halo RTS, Halogen, was axed earlier this month.
