The first Halo PC multiplayer map has been released! Nick on the HBO Forum announced that MonoxideC has converted "The Library", a Campaign mission for Halo, to a fully-functional multiplayer map. Among being edited totally with user-created tools, you can play the map right now. (You'll have to give up Chiron TL-34, but Monoxide doesn't think that'll be too much of a hardship.)

In addition, a new weapon based on the Rocket Launcher is in the level. Named the Nuke Launcher, it appears to shoot a projectile that destroys anything within an enormous blast radius, similar to the Redeemer of Unreal Tournament.

So how does one start playing The Library? Simple. Just pick up the file from The Junkyard's Halo Maps section, read the README document, and use PPF-O-Matic or your favourite PPF patching application. Make sure to back up your original Halo PC maps first!

At this point in time, there are several Halo PC servers running this version of The Library, so you should be able to enjoy this map with other players. Congratulations to MonoxideC and thanks for the new map!
