Halo News Roundup for the 28th

In one fell swoop, here's what happened today in Halo news:

• HBO transitioned two servers to HomeLan's control -- they're called Homelan_HBO_East and Homelan_HBO_West, and they're meant for anyone liking the eccentric mix of gameplay that the halo.bungie.org folks enjoy. For anyone not clued into the whole "East" and "West" titling -- these servers are physically located on the East and West coasts; join to the one nearest you for the best gaming experience. I'll be trying for a spot on one of these servers later this evening.
  
• For those of you who read Xbox sites or forums (see this forum thread at Xbox365 for one such example), the rumors about Halo 2's release date are FALSE. Nobody, besides Bungie themselves, knows when Halo 2 will be ready for release. This unfortunately has to be made clear for some people: Until Bungie has made an official statement or press release, there is no definitive release date set. You can read the official Halo 2 FAQ from Bungie's site if that might help ease the pain of waiting.
  
• 343GS -- a Junkyard hosted site -- has a new wallpaper available entitled "Supremacy" in the Downloads section for your persual. The 'paper itself is 1024x768; scaled to 1280x1024 it still looks great. However, they note that "if you don't like red; though, leave this one ".
