More "next Xbox" rumors have been floating around the Internet lately. There have been the hoaxes, such as the one where it shows a truck of Apple G5's being delivered to Microsoft. In reality, the picture was taken completely out of context -- the G5's were being delivered to the MSCopy shop. The person who took the picture in the first place was fired for "security reasons" after he posted the photo on his 'blog. Sad how some people don't do their research before jumping the bandwagon.

However, an actual newspaper has reported that "Microsoft leaks (the) details on Xbox Next", with some interesting decisions reported. Among the alleged changes for Microsoft's next console include the removal of the hard disk drive, the reliance on three G5 processors, and lingering doubts about backwards compatibility. As a current Xbox owner, I'm currently displeased with the suggestions presented in the article, and have written my own deliberate flame-like responses to these allegations; you can leave your comments in this thread.

Edit: The author of the Mercury News article is none other than Dean Takahashi himself. Dean wrote "Opening the Xbox", the definitive guide to the development of the Xbox console. It's become one of my most favourite non-fiction books to date, and you really should check it out -- Amazon has a "Sneak Preview" available.
