Gamespy Security Hot-Fix for Halo PC and Halo PC Dedicated Server

The GameSpy Security Hot-Fix for Halo PC addresses a rare crash bug that could occur if a malicious individual (hacker) purposely tried to exploit the GameSpy CDKey SDK. This Hot-Fix changes the version number of Halo PC and Halo PC Dedicated Server to 1.04 from 1.031.
So while this patch will not improve your end-user Halo experience performance-wise, it'll make it more secure. You can obtain this patch for your Halo PC client by letting the game automatically update, running the haloupdate.exe in your game folder, or get the standalone patcher from The Junkyard. Microsoft has also made the Halo PC Dedicated Server fix available.

All of the BUNGIE official servers are running the 1.04 fix already, so you should be in no want of a game if you're ready for Halo this evening! Comments >>
