Last monday we mentioned that Starsiege Universe put together a pretty extensive interview with the writers of the Starsiege:2845 game. Well, this second installment features questions answered by the team regarding about the backstory, some of what we should and shouldn't expect to see in the single player campaign, and what they see for the future of gaming and their own careers in particular. Here's a snippet:

SSU: We know that the Blood Eagle were an Imperial Order of knights during this period in the history, and that they eventually became one of the Great Tribes, so is there any chance we'll get to see the possible roots of some other groups from the Tribes era? Maybe some info about the genesis of the Phoenix cult or the mysterious origins of the Diamond Sword?

Blake: No and no. One of our principal goals was to create a compelling story that left Sierra the maximum amount of freedom in deciding the "origins" of factions and characters in the Tribes end of the pool. We're not touching any possible roots, though there'll be room for Sierra to take what it wants and weave it into the continuity if desired. That's not our decision, though.

Victor: In other words, Tribes territory is guarded by slavering hounds and landspike turrets.
Along with this interview, they also managed to snag another two screenshots, here and here. And if you missed part 1, read it first. Comments >>
