After a long lull in Tribes: Vengeance news, IGN has broken the silence. Irrational Games' Senior Programmer Glenn "experimental" Fiedler gets a chance to talk this time. Fiedler starts out his diary with a bang exclaiming that they are very close to an alpha version:

Everybody at Irrational is working extremely hard now that we're so close to being feature complete on the game, and things are really starting to come together from a big mixing pot of programming, art and design into a game that is fun to play.
For the majority of the diary, Fiedler talks about his job as a programmer and the pros and cons of being his job in gaming. This is a very good read not only for Tribes: Vengeance fans but also for anybody interested in becoming a programmer for a gaming company. On top of all of this, two new pictures of a previously-unseen map, or atleast a previously-unseen section of a map, have been added to the mix. Be sure to check it out.
