tJY: What can we expect to see in the next build of Realm Wars?

Click for the full picture!Logan: I am hoping very soon. The next build is mostly going to be a maintenance fix for the WWDC build that was done a while back. Tweaking game play and issues while adding a bit more to the game.

Some of the stuff that we are working on includes: Phil Carlslile is currently updating Realm Wars to Torque 1.2 this week. Paul Dana is going to do some fixes to hand to hand combat (to remove that ridiculous turning limitation when swinging). I am going to be fixing up the Port of Encalaris map as well as designing at least one new map/mission to add to the release. Douglas Baker has a camera resource he will be added that will help minimise camera occlusion when in 3rd person. Oh and we cannot forget other small tweaks and updates that we are going to perform as well.

tJY: Can you give us an ETA on the next build?

Logan: I wish I could give one, but all that I can safely say is soon. It’s all really up to how much time everyone can contribute and how fast it can get done.

tJY: Is there anything else you’d like to say about yourself, GarageGames or Realm Wars?

Logan: Well in regards to Realm Wars I just want to say that I hope that we can take Realm Wars to a place where everyone can really appreciate it and if you have the talent and time to help us reach our goal we would appreciate hearing from you.

In regards to GarageGames I would like to give them a shameless plug and a thank you for giving us a great tool to make some great games with. I truly think that this is the first time in over twenty years that talented people stand a chance of making games that are on par with the industry. So thanks for putting the ability to make great games back into the hands of the common man.

Fin: Final Thoughts:
Has Realm Wars been revived? Does Logan Foster have what it takes to bring the project back to life? Not wanting to sound like an old movie cliche, but only time will tell. But the move to implement a core development team and scaling down the project development process is a great start.
